    Cross Country Canada develops and delivers programs to achieve international excellence in cross-country skiing, for participants of all ages and abilities, while fostering the principles of ethical conduct and fair play.

    Club Benefits

    Below are the services Cross Country Canada provides to its members:

    Development Programs

    • Raises funds for Association functions and programs
    • Develops and maintains the Long Term Athlete Development Model
    • Develops coach training programs and documentation, and supervises higher level certification
    • Develops and publishes race rules and officiating materials
    • Develops programs and designs, produces and supplies materials for the Skill Development Program for youth skiers, as well as Leader Training courses
    • Runs course conductor training courses and upgrades (train the trainers)

    Racing

    • Develops programs and designs, produces and supplies materials for the Skill Development Program for youth skiers, as well as Leader Training courses
    • Trains Technical Delegates and other level officials through the CCC Officials Program. Assigns TDs to national level races.
    • Coordinates the national race calendar and subsidizes prize monies
    • Coordinates National Championships, NorAms and Canada Cup races and sanctions them to FIS
    • Maintains expertise, monitors status and promotes/encourages initiatives for drug-free competition

    National Teams

    • Funds and operates the National Ski Team (Senior, Under-23, Junior and Para-nordic), including selection, equipping, coaching, training and competitions
    • Partially subsidizes National Team Development Centres (subject to budget)

    Communications

    • Provides internal communication (CCC web-site, Cross Connections, Electronic Club Mail-out, etc)
    • Manages social media
    • Manages national level media relations
    • Promotes the sport (posters, videos, etc.)

    Administration and Insurance

    • Governs and administers the Association
    • Interfaces with external partners (Sport Canada, Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committees, Own The Podium (OTP), WinSport Canada, Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and national sponsors
    • Provides liability insurance for Clubs and Members
    • Maintains expertise, monitors status and promotes/encourages initiatives for drug-free competition
