Mark Tierney will spend the next two weeks sharing his nordic ski knowledge with Canada’s budding stars.
The Corner Brook native will serve as a coach/ski technician for Team Canada’s cross-country ski team at the first-ever Youth Olympic Winter Games Jan. 13-22 in Innsbruck, Austria.
Local sports fans will probably remember Tierney as a competitive cross-country skier who suited up for the 1999 Canada Winter Games provincial nordic ski team. He was the province’s flagbearer for the opening ceremony for the momentous event in local sports history.
A Level 3 coach with 10 years experience....
