World Skis Championships

First held in 1924 the FIS World Nordic Championships are hosted every 2nd year and become the focal point of the cross-country season. The Championships include the 3 Nordic disciplines of Cross-Country, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. Twenty-one cross-country events were contested at the 2011 World Nordic Championships in Oslo, Norway. Canada has five World Championship medals in the 90 year history of the event; a sprint bronze by Sara Renner in 2005, a team sprint gold by Alex Harvey and Devon Kershaw in 2011, a sprint bronze by Alex Harvey in 2013, a sprint silver by Alex Harvey in 2015 and a skiathlon bronze by Alex Harvey in 2015.

The 2019 FIS World Ski Championships will be held in Seefeld, Austria February 19 - March 3.
