National Ski Team Background:
Julien Locke has been working his way through the athlete development pathway and is now ready to make a new mark on the elite circuit during his third year on the National Ski Team where he began the season on the World Cup start line. Julien first competed at the Haywood Ski Nationals as a 14-year-old where he became more focused on chasing a career as a high-performance athlete. He captured his first national junior sprint title in 2010.

Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing:

Born and raised in Nelson, B.C., Julien began skiing as soon as he could walk at the Nelson Nordic Ski Club. He joined the Jackrabbits program when he was six and completed all levels before progressing onto the racing team. Soon after he began competing locally in the Kootenay Cup Series. Julien joined the Nelson Nordic Junior Racing program at 11 before competing in his first B.C. Cup event two years later.
