The men's race was a challenge for the Canadians. With a tough course and only a 2.5 k lap, all 4 men, along with almost half the rest of the field, were lapped and required to abandon the race.

The race was won by Russian skier Denis Spitsov.

Reached after the race, Team Leader Lisa Patterson remarked on the tough course, and felt " the skis were good, we just got beat". "The relay teams are looking to improve from last year's positions, 10th for men and 12th for women. If the boys wake up healthy, we could be able to put together one of the best finishes in quite a few years."

      The races continue tomorrow
with the World Junior Championship relays. Check the livestream with races starting at 04:30 and 06:30 EST.
