      1) Feb 2-4. Haywood NorAm Eastern Canadian Championships/SuperTour, Cantley, Quebec

The Haywood Easterns much like the Holmenkollen Ski Festival, or the Lahti Ski Games, have become a fixture on the Canadian race circuit, partly because you can pretty much count on the first weekend of February being a trip to the Ottawa-Gatineau region. It is the 14th year for the event in the region and this year it is jointly organized by 3 local clubs, Chelsea Nordiq, Nakkertok Nordic and Skinouk.

Over 800 racers will be competing, from Alaska to Newfoundland, featuring a total of 90 clubs from 10 provinces and territories and 6+ U.S. states. It will also serve as the Para-Nordic Nationals, a Haywood NorAm and a U.S. SuperTour stop, their National race series.

Racing begins Friday with classic sprints, followed by skate distance races on Saturday and finishing with a classic pursuit on Sunday.

      2) Feb. 2,3, World Junior/U23 Championships, Goms, Switzerland

Canada has done fairly well to date at this year's events and there are 2 race days remaining. On Friday the U23 skiers race the skiathlon and the junior relays take place on Saturday.

A great feature of this event is livestreaming by the Swiss Ski Federation, with races starting at 04:30 and 06:30 (not as nice, but better than the Korean time zone...) EST.
