Haywood RACE Report: Antoine Cyr 38, Sadie White 43rd, top Canadians at World U23 Championships

    Today's events at the World U23 Championships were distance, skate races. Interval start 10k for women and 15k for men. Temperatures are moderating, around -5 deg C., making the weather a bit more comfortable for spectators and racers.



    In this morning's women's race, Sadie White had the top Canadian result in 43rd, followed 5 seconds later by her teammate Hannah Mehain in 44th. Natalie Hynes was 49th and Marie Corriveau 54th.

    Results

    The French had an excellent day in the men's race, with Jules Lapierre the winner by almost 30 seconds, for 3 racers in the top 7.

    The top Canadian was Antoine Cyr in 38th, followed closely by Gareth Willams in 39th. Graham Ritchie was 52nd and Julian Smith finished 57th.
