Haywood RACE Report: Alex Harvey ties for 14th in Tour de Ski Stage 2.

    Temperatures were just a bit below 0 degrees C. as the women's 10k, began at the 2nd stage of the Tour de Ski in Toblach, Italy.

    Racing for Canada were Emily Nishikawa and Dahria Beatty.

    Emily had a strong start and was 23rd at the halfway point, before losing some placings in the 2nd half of the course finishing 35th. Dahria Beatty finished 56th.

    Natalia Nepryaeva came first, .3 seconds ahead of Ingvild Oestberg of Norway, with Anastasia Sedova 3rd.

    Results


    On the men's side Alex Harvey skied a controlled race and finished tied for 14th with Maurice Manificat of France. The race was won by Sergey Ustiugov, followed by Norway's Simen Krueger. Alex Bolshunov was 3rd.

    Lenny Valjas was 70th, with Bob Thompson 83rd.
    Results

    Alex is now 19th in the Tour de Ski overall standings, 1.21 off the lead.

    The skiers have a day off, before Stage 3 on New Year's Day, another skate sprint in Val Mustair, Switzerland.
