      1) Dec. 12, 13 Dresden, Germany

The World Cup returns for a 2nd year to Dresden, Germany, a "city sprint" downtown, along the banks of the Elbe river. Based on last year's success, the spectator capacity has been increased to 4,500 people, at a price of 35 euros per day for the individual and team sprint competitions.

Canada will be represented by Dahria Beatty, Lenny Valjas and Bob Thompson. Emily Nishikawa and Alex Harvey are back in Canada recovering from the Tour de Ski and preparing for the World Championships.

Temperatures are expected to be in the +5 deg. C. range with periods of rain over the weekend, which could make for some soggy race conditions.

The knockout rounds of the individual sprints take place at 07:20 EST and Sunday's Team Sprint Finals are at 06:45.
