      November 3, 2011

On November 2nd. 2011 the late Heinz Niederhauser and Beckie Scott were inducted into the Canadian Ski Museum's Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame Induction ceremony was held at the Chateau Cartier hotel in Gatineau and featured several hundred prominent snowsport representatives including as an honorary guest Senator Nancy Greene-Raine. Cross-country skiing was well represented with a contingent of over 40 guests including previous Hall of Fame members Richard Weber and Dave Rees.

Blanche Drapeau accepted the plaque and commemorative gold pin on behalf of her late husband Heinz a passionate coach and administrator who played a major role in the development of the present high performance system. A testimony to his influence is the fact that 31 Canadian Ski Championship medalists attended the memorial service celebrating his life and involvement in our sport.

Famed Canadian, sport psychologist Terry Orlick a long time friend and consultant with Beckie Scott introduced Beckie to the audience. Terry highlighted once again that passion and the drive to take action to achieve your goals was a common characteristic of the inductees, and warned the audience that while Beckie is a very personable and friendly person in public, look out on the ski course when she has her "game face" on.
