      For Immediate Release:
Reader Voting Starts for IMPACT Magazine's Top 20 Cover Athletes of the Past 20 Years

Calgary, Alberta, July 28, 2011 - IMPACT Magazine is celebrating its 20th Anniversary by honouring its all-time Top 20 Cover Athletes. And starting today, IMPACT readers get a chance to help choose the top Male and Female athletes who will be revealed on the cover of IMPACT's 20th Anniversary Edition in September.

Western Canada's leading health, fitness and sport performance magazine, IMPACT began publishing in 1991 with Calgary Flames rising star Theoren Fleury on the cover of Volume 1, Issue 1. More than 140 elite athletes and sports personalities, from world champions and Olympic medallists to leaders in the sport and fitness world have been featured on 120 IMPACT covers in the past two decades.

"IMPACT has been proud to be a strong advocate for healthier Canadians through fitness and sport for the past 20 years, and the people who have graced our cover have been the best ambassadors for that message," says IMPACT's founder and publisher Elaine Kupser. "Selecting our Top 20 has been a difficult process. We could have selected 20 completely different cover athletes as our semifinalists and still had amazing people to honour."

Throughout the 20th Anniversary Edition, dozens of athletes and personalities who have appeared on IMPACT's covers in the past 20 years will be part of the magazine's features.

Readers can log onto www.impactmagazine.ca or find IMPACT on Facebook to vote for their favourite cover athletes.
